Whistler Cross Country Skiing
With snow conditions and trails in superb form, it is not wonder Whistler is buzzing with excitement around cross country skiing. In what is certainly the dawn of a new nordic era for the region, the Whistler cross country offers over 60 kilometres of trails, both in Lost Lake Park and the new Whistler Olympic Park in the nearby Callaghan Valley.
New Olympic Nordic Centre
With the opening of the new Olympic Nordic Centre, the biggest improvement is the brand new paved access road that will be plowed all winter long. This improved access has enabled Callaghan Country to make a host of improvements, including a new base area, ski-in access for our overnight lodge programs and a new Day-Use Nordic Program, geared for local and regional Nordic skiers.
Day-Use Nordic Programs
With the new paved road access, Callaghan Country can now offer day-use access to its incredible Nordic terrain, an experience previously reserved for weekenders. Better yet, we have agreed with the neighbouring 2010 Olympic Nordic venue to honour each others' trail tickets and season passes, in an effort to create a seamless and fully comprehensive Nordic skiing experience in the Callaghan Valley to suit skiers of every ability level.
With the Olympic venue's world-class Nordic and ski jumping facilities combined with Callaghan Country's pristine wilderness setting, spectacular scenic qualities, full-service backcountry lodge and range of winter activities, the Callaghan Valley promises to become one of the premiere destinations in the world for Nordic skiing and self-propelled winter recreation of every kind.
