Canadian Athlete Sings Anthem For Medal Ceremony
Canadian men's skeleton gold medalist Jon Montgomery celebrated his gold
medal victory Saturday night by proudly belting out the Canadian anthem
as the Canadian flag was raised at the Medals Plaza in Whistler.
Montgomery secured Canada's fourth gold medal Friday night at the
Whistler Sliding Centre after 10 days of intense Olympic action at the
Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
It was also Canada's first medal
claimed in the beautiful mountain resort town of Whistler which is host
to the alpine, Nordic, and sliding events and features 3 Olympic venues.
Whistler Village was packed as hundreds of people celebrated and
sang the Canadian anthem along with Montgomery standing proudly on the
podium displaying his gold.
Other Canadian Olympic athletes
joined their fellow Canucks to share in the celebration and festivities
of Olympic history.
Montgomery dedicated a big piece of his Olympic gold medal to Canada
and all of his supporters.
